Welcome to my space...

My name is Tito Oladejo and I am a digital storyteller born and raised in Nigeria, based in Toronto, Canada. I'm passionate about helping brands clarify their identity, tell meaningful stories and amplify their message to the people who matter to them. I believe that the world is linked through human stories steeped in empathy, culture or history, that help us stay connected.

With my professional and academic background in digital communications, I'm drawn towards telling these stories through creative problem solving, with Branding (Strategy and Identity), Content Creation and Digital Marketing. As a freelancer, I've had the privilege of creating people-focused solutions for game-changing SMBs like Chaleur Consulting, BlueClouds Photography and Living Meaningfully. I've tried my hands on these solutions in personal projects as well (the most successful of which, you will see in this portfolio).

My creativity takes me through many spaces and across many industries, that could sometimes seem unrelated. But, so far, empathy, collaboration, openness to uniqueness and a 'get-things-done-well' attitude, have been my companions on this journey. It appears that my story is being written by helping others write theirs and I cannot wait to build more relationships and explore more chapters and opportunities.

'B' IS FOR BLACKNESS

Portrait Photography & Storytelling

OVERVIEW
“B” is for Blackness explored the individuality of black youth; who they are in spite of and despite the blackness of their skin. I used a mixture of curated and candid shots, colour and black and white treatments to express this theme in portrait photography. This project gave me the chance to step into the lives of other black young adults through my lens and really see them, even if it was just for a few minutes.

CONTEXT
I used a combination of low-angled, intimate, close-up shots and medium shots, to capture 12 emotions and expressions of black people just being human. Using people who are not models, who in fact were not very comfortable in front of a camera, helped me produce authentic and genuine reflections that are also at the core of black individuality. 'AMMO' for CLEAN CO.

Commercial Photography, Creative Direction & Branding

OVERVIEW
AMMO is a commercial photography project for the fictional juicing company, Clean Co. The challenge was to promote the brand's new line of immune booster shots for a Gen Z and millennial target market. The campaign sold the message with a fun, colourful, minimalist and modern social media (Instagram) campaign.

CONTEXT
The goal of this project was achieved using the flat-lay technique, natural light, fresh fruit to portray the freshness and natural state of the juices, props to show the lifestyle of the target market, and hands to show human interaction with the product.

MAGNET APP

OVERVIEW
Magnet is a fictional visual arts and culture magazine that aims to tell the real story of Africa through photography and film. This project explored the magazine's digital presence on a mobile app. I designed this UX package with 3 thoroughly researched user personas, 4 wireframes and 2 fully designed versions out of the 4 wireframes.

CONTEXT & CHALLENGE
The challenge for this project was to maintain a minimalist look and feel while still serving the audience’s needs.

PROCESS
First, I researched other companies in the magazine industry with mobile apps. Next, I created user personas, with information gotten from interviews with 3 people that fit Magnet’s audience. The wireframes were designed with a visual hierarchy that had the users' needs in mind. Finally, I fleshed out 2 of the wireframes to visualize how well the elements scale and how the colors bring the app to life.

SOLUTION
The design captured the look and feel of the website, while maintaining minimalism with lots of white space, easy navigation, and user interaction.

FOCUS APP

CONCEPT
Focus is a mobile app that helps photography enthusiasts and beginners choose the best photography gear for their needs.

THE PLATFORM
The UI of the app is a modern, minimalist look; a neumorphic user interface.


THE PROBLEM
Indecisiveness and buyer's regret are two of the main issues that plague buyers. Without a simplified guide to the products and reviews from other photographers, potential buyers can get frustrated and that could discourage them from buying altogether.

THE SOLUTION
Focus provides an interactive and streamlined platform that offers a seamless process for virtual product experiences and product reviews of photography gear.

BRANDING & SOCIAL MEDIA
